People that know me, know that I love reading books on Disney history (whether it be about Walt Disney himself, the company, or the parks and resorts around the world). That is one reason why (at the writing on this blog post) own 20 of the 23 books written by Disney historian Jim Korkis.
One place that I look at for new Disney books is actually themeparkpress.com (btw, this is not a sponsored post...just a huge fan of the site) and over a year ago I become Facebook friends with one of the authors, Trisha Daab. When I found out that she was an author, instead of buying her two books from amazon.com, I went and bought them straight from her (plus she signed them as well).
As I said before, I am a huge fan of Disney history and needless to say that after I after I bought them and had them in my possession, I found out that they were not Disney history type books. When I started reading the first book, The Not So Evil Stepmother in the Most Magical Place on Earth, I wasn't too sure of it. But after 2 days, I became a fan of the book and a fan of hers as well.
In the book, she puts into details on multiple Disney trips with her family (including getting married at Disney)...from an experience in 2007 with 2, all the way up to a experience for in 2015. Needless to say, if you want to read a book), on how to do a Disney family trip (and don't want to read or buy a Disney travel guide book), this is the book for you.
In her second book, Tasting the Magic from A-Z: The Best Food and Beverages at Walt Disney World, she talks about all the different food and drink you can try at WDW...and not the typical food and drink you think of (like Mickey Mouse bars, Mickey pretzels, and dole whips). Think of it as a mini-encyclopedia of food and drink at WDW. Not only does her daughter-in-law illustrate in the book (in which she does an amazing job), but Trisha also interviews different chiefs and food CMs at WDW.
Plus, she is going to be releasing a new book around Christmas time which is going to be book 1 of a four part series. I am personally looking forward to getting the series from her and reviewing them as well.
