Surviving Walt Disney World in the middle of July while fighting Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)

Last month was the first time ever that I went to Walt Disney World in the middle of summer and boy was it hot out. I know that the heat index on most of the days I was down there was in the low 100s. This blog post will be about how to deal with the heat while at WDW and also deal with CHF. Let me put a disclaimer on here....do not go to areas that you know that the heat will be bad unless you have the approval from your doctors...in which I had the ok from all my doctors to go.

First of all, make sure you pack the right clothes with you. This would include wearing short sleeve shirts and tank-tops. Also, if you decide to wear blue jeans and/or tan pants, make sure they are loose fitting and they are not thick pants either.

Second, make sure you drink plenty of water and even eat ice cream. The reason why I said eat ice cream, it is considered a liquid. I learned this when I was first diagnosed with CHF. At first, you will be put in a fluid restriction and ice cream is considered a liquid since you can melt them to a liquid. If you do eat ice cream, just eat a basic ice cream cone or cup. It will be better for you.

Third, make sure you find places that have great A/C. Some great places are in Morocco and Carousel of Progress. Best places for A/C I have been to. Another great place is Mouse Gear at EPCOT.

Of course, make sure you wear sun screen. I didn't wear any and believe it or not, I never got sunburnt. I get more sunburnt living in Tennessee then I do in Florida

Would I ever go back to Walt Disney World during the middle of summer or just summer in general? To be honest, I had originally said no, but looking back, I would do it again.

Check out my Disney IG and twitter accounts...they are both called DisneyNut1985
